What Swedish television actually looks like
Sweden has two public service channels, SVT1 and SVT2, funded through the tax system rather than a licence fee. They carry the main news bulletins and most national events, and they carry no advertising.
The commercial side is TV4, TV3, Kanal 5, TV6 and a handful of smaller channels. TV4 is the one most households watch daily alongside SVT.
Public service is funded through income tax in Sweden. It is unrelated to any TV subscription you buy, so you pay it whether or not you take an IPTV service.
What this means if you are new here
Most Swedish channels broadcast in Swedish without English subtitles. Foreign films and series, however, are almost always shown in the original language with Swedish subtitles rather than dubbed — which makes them perfectly watchable in English.

If you are Swedish and living abroad
This is the other half of the audience for this page. Swedish broadcasters restrict their own streaming services to Swedish connections, which is why SVT Play stops working the day you land somewhere else.
An IPTV subscription is not tied to your location in the same way. The Swedish channels stay in the list wherever you connect from, which is the specific problem it solves for people who have moved.
What to check before you subscribe
Ask whether access from outside Sweden is permitted — some providers restrict it. Ask how many simultaneous streams are included, which is the number that matters in a household. And ask whether the electronic programme guide covers the Swedish channels.
Test in the evening, between 19:00 and 23:00. That is when servers are busiest and when problems appear, if they are going to.

Do I need to speak Swedish to use this?+
No. The apps are in English, and a large part of the catalogue is English-language. Swedish channels broadcast in Swedish, but foreign films and series keep their original audio with Swedish subtitles.
Can I watch Swedish channels from outside Sweden?+
Yes. Unlike SVT Play and similar services, the subscription is not restricted to a Swedish connection. This is the main reason Swedes abroad use it.
Do I still pay the Swedish TV tax?+
Public service in Sweden is funded through income tax, independently of any subscription you buy. It is not affected either way.
